Review a Chess Game with Local Stockfish
Paste a PGN to inspect up to three selected decisions, compare the move played with a stronger choice found by the local engine, and retry one position from the game. A FEN opens a single position instead of a full-game review.

Paste a game
Drop in a PGN from chess.com, Lichess, a book or a message to check that its main line loads, then open the same score in the analysis app.
Open for reviewEngine and grading limits
What the review shows
- Selected decisions — up to three positions chosen from the engine review, with repeated instances of the same issue reduced
- Played move and alternative — compare what happened with the stronger move found under the current local search
- One-move retry — return to a selected position and play the alternative on the board
- Full score tools — move grades, evaluation graph and board navigation remain available for closer inspection
A simple review loop
- Paste the PGN and choose White, Black or both sides.
- Run the review, then open a selected decision to return the board to that position.
- Compare the played move with the engine line and use the one-move retry if the alternative is worth practising.
Why there is no review quota
LibreChess runs Stockfish on your device rather than sending positions to a metered analysis service. There is no daily review counter or credit balance. The trade-off is that speed and search depth depend on the browser, hardware and time allowed.
Analyse your chess.com games here
- Open the finished game and find its share, download or export controls.
- Copy the PGN text or download the
.pgnfile. Site labels can change, so look for PGN rather than relying on a particular button position. - For several games, use the archive’s game-export option if it is available.
- Paste the PGN above, or straight into the analysis board, and run the review.
Analyse your Lichess games here
- Open the game and use its share or export area to obtain the PGN.
- Choose a PGN that contains the game’s legal main line. Imported comments and side variations are not used by the review.
- Use the account export tool when you need a larger set of games.
- Paste one game here, then open it for a fresh local engine review.
What stays on your device
Your pasted PGN or FEN is processed in the browser and is not uploaded to a LibreChess analysis service. The browser still makes ordinary requests for the page, scripts, fonts and engine files, and the site uses cookieless aggregate pageview analytics; those analytics events do not include moves, PGN or FEN. See the privacy details for the full request breakdown.
